I prefer oats when I don’t feel like eating eggs for breakfast. Or some days I woke up with these sweet cravings and oats come to rescue. I prefer steel-cut oats than the instant oats as it has more nutritional value and gives a creamy texture. Oats are high in fiber which keeps you full for longer at the same time you don’t feel heavy.
Steel-cut oats take longer to cook so it does require some planning. I like to cook in the stovetop to get consistency than pressure cooking or microwave cooking.
Once oats are cooked you can add banana or your favorite fruit, milk, and honey to make creamy oats. My husband likes without milk and he mixes cooked oats with banana and honey. If your banana is ripened well then you can ignore honey as it gives enough sweetness to oats. Instead honey you can also use coconut sugar if you like as it gives a different flavor to oats.
We prefer cold breakfast for summer days and this recipe makes it as great overnight oats. You can use the same recipe and keep it in the fridge. Next day morning just grab and enjoy the delicious oats.
